Abstract

This paper explores solar energy solutions for rural electrification, focusing on solar home systems (SHS) and community based solar mini grids. Case studies from rural areas across five countries illustrate the impact of solar energy on improving access to electricity, reducing energy poverty, and supporting economic development. The study concludes that solar energy offers a viable solution for electrifying off grid communities sustainably.
