This study investigates sustainable waste to energy (WtE) technologies as a solution for managing municipal solid waste (MSW). The research explores the potential of anaerobic digestion, gasification, and incineration in converting waste into energy, reducing landfill dependency and generating renewable energy. Fieldwork was conducted in five urban areas where WtE facilities are operational. The results indicate that WtE technologies not only reduce waste but also provide a sustainable energy source for urban communities. However, challenges such as high capital costs and emissions control need to be addressed for wider adoption.
