Abstract

All the Indian women novelists have been depicting women in various manifestations. Women writers of post colonial strand have brought a great change in the trend of depicting women characters. All the women writers such as Kamala Markendaya, Nayantara Saghal, Anita Desai, Shashi Deshpande, Bharathi Mukherjee, Manju Kapur, Gita Hariharan and the others have presented women as an individual who fights against suppression and domination of the patriarchy.
