The study was conducted on the performance of State Bank of India (SBI) for the year 2012-2021, where it was observed that the impact of the mergers of five associates - State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ), State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Travancore (SBT), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) and State Bank of Patiala (SBP) and Bharatiya Mahila Bank into SBI in the year 2017 proved to be positive. It was concluded from the study that the mergers enhance the performance of banks in the Indian economy.
